TDI Courses

(Technical Diving International)

TDI is the largest technical certification agency in the world.

As one of the first agencies to provide training in mixed gas diving and rebreathers, TDI is seen as an innovator of new diving techniques and programs which previously were not available to the general public.

*All courses include full technical equipment but DO NOT include certification fees or student materials.

*All Tec Trimix courses are based on twin 12 ltrs, maximum 200 bar.

Decompression Procedures Diver

This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. This program is designed as a stand-alone course or it may be taught in conjunction with such TDI courses as Advanced Nitrox, Advanced Wreck or Extended Range. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 45 metres unless taught in conjunction with the Extended Range Course. The most common equipment requirements, gear set-up and decompression techniques are presented. Students are permitted to utilize Enriched Air nitrox mixes or oxygen for decompression provided the gas mix is within their current certification level.

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in decompression diving activities without direct supervision so long as the diving activities, the area of activities and the environmental conditions approximate those of training.

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are qualified to enroll in TDI Advanced Nitrox Course, TDI Extended Range Course, TDI Advanced Wreck Course and TDI Entry Level Trimix.

PREREQUISITES

  • Minimum age: 18

  • Minimum certification of PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent

  • Minimum of 25 open water dives, or the equivalent at the discretion of the instructor

Extended Range Diver

This course provides training and experience required to competently utilize air for dives up to 55 metres that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox mixtures or oxygen during decompression. The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper techniques, equipment requirements and hazards of deep air diving to a maximum of 55 metres and utilizing nitrox mixtures or oxygen for staged decompression.

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in technical extended range diving activities without direct supervision so long as the diving activities, the area of activities  and the environmental conditions approximate those of training.

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are qualified to enroll in TDI Advanced Wreck Course, TDI Entry Trimix Gas Course and TDI Advanced Trimix Gas Course.

PREREQUISITES

  • Minimum age: 18

  • Minimum of 100 logged dives, of which 25 must be deeper than 30m, or the equivalent at the discretion of the instructor

  • Certification as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and TDI Decompression Procedures Diver (or equivalents) are required

Trimix Diver

The TDI Entry Level Trimix Course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and / or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 60 metres. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen / helium / nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases.

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in technical diving activities utilizing custom Trimix mixtures without direct supervision so long as  the diving activities, the area of activities and the environmental conditions approximate those of training.

PREREQUISITES

  • Minimum age: 18

  • Minimum certification as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and Decompression Procedures Diver (or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 100 logged dives or equivalent at the discretion of the instructor

Advanced Trimix Diver

The TDI Advanced Trimix Course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing Nitrox and / or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 100  metres. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen / helium / nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases.

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in technical diving activities utilizing custom Trimix mixtures without direct supervision as long as the diving activities, the area of activities and the environmental conditions approximate those of training.

PREREQUISITES

  • Minimum age: 18

  • Have a minimum certification as an Extended Range Diver or Entry Level Trimix Diver (or equivalent)

  • Show proof a minimum of one hundred (100) logged dives with 25 deeper than 30 meter

  • Prior logged experience w/ double cylinders and any other unfamiliar equipment i.e, Dry suit
